B-Film & The Cannibalistic Po Howard Band are a duo from Hobart, Australia, made up of Paul Luttrell and Caitlin Barnett. The name derives from an in-joke from the pair’s previous band and is also a homage to the Beatles album Sgt. Peppers Lonely hearts Club Band. After the disbandment of their previous group (King Carousel; a four-piece indie pop band) in December 2012, the two members stuck together and began writing and recording new music in their DIY home studio; music that would soon become their debut LP; B-Film & The Cannibalistic Po Howard Band Strike Back. The record was released independently as a free digital download. It marked a change in musical direction for both members as they began to draw upon influences from the 90’s British Shoegaze Scene, along with more psychedelic sounds and grittier aural aesthetics.
